Changes & Challenges

A lot has happened since I last posted here. The worst thing was I guess I was going through some kind of depression. I didn’t want to socialise with anyone. All I really did was get up & go to work (most of the time I didn’t even want to do that), then sit like a couch potato watching TV when I got home.
Things improved though. First, in November 2007, I joined a new kind of gym called Gymophobics. Gymophobics was designed to suit women like me who don’t like exercise or popular types of gyms full of Lycra clad skinny women. Believe it or not I go to Gymophobics 3 to 4 times a week and I love it!

The second big change I made in my life was in January 2008, when I quit smoking! I’ve not had a cigarette since January 7th :D

My latest challenge, and perhaps it’s going to be the biggest change of all, is to lose weight.
On May 14th I started on a weight loss programme called LighterLife and by yesterday, just 11 days later, when I was weighed by my counsellor, I had lost a whopping 1st 1lb (7kg)!! :D I’ve still a long way to go, but I’m determined to succeed.

Teenagers! Who wants them?

I’d be more than happy to donate my two to anyone who wants them right now (I don’t even care if it’s to a good home or not). Having one at home at a time is fine, but the two of them together? FORGET IT! It had been quite a pleasant evening until Dom arrived home about 15 minutes ago, then WWIII broke out! There they were… screaming & yelling at each other, as usual.

Is there a law or something that states that teenage siblings must not get on with each other?

Usually I can cope with them carrying on like this, but today I’ve been fighting a headache, earache & neckache and them fighting is more than I can take right now. Of course, to make me look a liar, as I’m typing this they’re actually having a conversation at an acceptable volume. They seem to be fascinated by a program on TV about kids with an illness that ages them rapidly. These poor kids look like little old men, so maybe my two are realising how lucky they are (not that I expect this peace & harmony to last much longer or for them to remember their ‘luck’ for much longer).

Complete silence from them now… why? Because they’re watching a nice ‘gentle’ film… Die Hard 2!!

Ok… I know I wasn’t the easiest of teenagers for my mum, but surely I was never as bad with my brothers & sister as these pair are with each other!
